In the Indian tradition, the Trinity of Brahmā, Vishnu and Shiva work with the energy or Shakti of their feminine counterparts. In the Gita, these different facets of the Trinity come together in the form of Krishna.

Course Overview

The Bhagavad Gita, or Song of God, is a dialogue that occurs between a warrior prince, Arjuna and his friend, Krishna, who is the Supreme Being, who has incarnated in human form. Circumstances in the King’s family have led to this war, which is unavoidable, between the sons of two brothers. Comprising 700 Shlokas and in 18 chapters, it is part of the Mahabharata, also translated as the GREAT WAR, a war that was fought towards the end of the Dvapara Yuga, one of the four epochs in a Hindu calendar. While religion and history continue to wage their own wars about whether the battle of the Mahabharata really took place or not, and if it did, when, the teaching is considered very unique. It has characters that depict the entire spectrum of human nature, from that of the highest beings to the lesser ones.
